After 6 rounds played we can already see who rules in the La Liga and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked San Lorenzo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Lorenzo smashed 10th ranked San Martin Corrientes in Almagra 114-77. San Lorenzo shot 63.6 percent from the field. San Lorenzo had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by San Martin Corrientes' players. American-Jordanian Dar Tucker (193-88, college: De Paul) scored 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Uruguayan power forward Mathias Calfani (204-92, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-91) with 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Lorenzo have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. San Martin Corrientes at the other side keeps the tenth place with three games lost. San Martin Corrientes will play next round against strong Boca Juniors trying to get back on the winning streak. San Lorenzo will try to continue on its current victory against eighteenth ranked Estudiantes C. in Concordia.
Undefeated Instituto (2-1) recorded its first loss in Buenos Aires. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Ferro (4-2) 85-80. American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-93, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Mariano Fierro supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Even 18 points and 4 assists by point guard Gaston Whelan (188-94) did not help to save the game for Instituto. Ferro have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gimnasia. Instituto at the other side keeps the eleventh position with one game lost. Ferro will play against bottom-ranked Atenas (#20) in Cordoba in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Instituto will play on the road against Obras Basket (#9) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Formosa was also quite interesting. Second ranked Boca Juniors (5-1) played at the court of 5th ranked La Union (3-2). Boca Juniors defeated La Union 93-83 on Saturday. Everything went according to plan in Santiado del Estero where fifth ranked Quimsa (4-1) outscored 14th ranked Penarol (2-5) 94-68 on Saturday. Quimsa shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Penarol's players. American swingman Courtney Fells (197-86, college: NC State) scored 19 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and international center Roberto Acuna (208-90) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (195-98) with 15 points and forward Nicolas Lauria (202-88) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quimsa moved-up to fourth place. Loser Penarol dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Quimsa will face higher ranked Regatas Corrientes (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
