There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Bottom-ranked Atenas managed to get a sixth victory on Tuesday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Boca Juniors in Cordoba 78-67. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Nicolas Romano (200-87) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atenas (6-17) moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Penarol. Boca Juniors lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Estudiantes C.. Atenas is again looking forward to face higher ranked Boca Juniors (#10) in Buenos Aires in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Boca Juniors will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Mar del Plata. Twentieth ranked Penarol (6-17) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Olimpico de La Banda (11-14) 98-96 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The winners were led by the former international point guard Nicolas Gianella (186-78) who scored that evening 23 points and Kyle Austin supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even 27 points and 9 rebounds by American-North Macedonian Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) did not help to save the game for Olimpico de La Banda. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Penarol moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Atenas. Olimpico de La Banda lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Penarol will play against higher ranked San Martin Corrientes (#9) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Olimpico de La Banda will have a break next round.
A very close game took place in Bahia Blanca between Olimpico de La Banda and Bahia Basket. A very interesting game took place in Concordia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Estudiantes C. (12-12) to twelfth ranked La Union (12-13) 73-70 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Estudiantes C.. It was a good game for John Flowers who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. La Union maintains twelfth position with 12-13 record. Estudiantes C. at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. La Union's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Libertad Sunchales (#20) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
Fourth ranked Obras Basket (16-9) crushed at home 18th ranked Libertad Sunchales (6-18) by 27 points 101-74, which is the biggest margin this round on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertad Sunchales. Worth to mention a quality performance of Jonathan Holton who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Obras Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. Very expected game in Junin where 16th ranked Argentino (7-20) was defeated by fifth ranked Ferro (16-11) 90-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferro. Argentino was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
