There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in La Liga Argentina. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hindu as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hindu defeated their close opponent Barrio Parque in Chaco 72-65. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hindu made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Barrio Parque helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was swingman Jose Montero (193-95) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Pablo Fernandez (197-82) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Andres Landoni (202-90) who recorded 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Hindu have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Olimpico Ceres. Barrio Parque at the other side keeps the second place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Sixth-ranked Petrolero (12-22) made lots of trouble for third ranked C.Espanol P. (20-18) in Plaza Huincul. The visitors from Plottier managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for American Michael Henry (196-95, college: Buffalo St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Howard Wilkerson contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. C.Espanol P.'s coach Mauricio Santangelo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized Dominican forward Xavier Carreras (198-94) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds for Petrolero. C.Espanol P. maintains third place with 20-18 record having two points less than leader Platense. Petrolero lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 22 games lost. C.Espanol P. will play against Ciclista (#6) in Juninense in the next round. Petrolero will play at home against Ciclista and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Sixth-ranked Tiro Federal (10-27) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Independiente (15-20) in Santiago del Estero on Wednesday. Independiente managed to secure only three-point victory 64-61. However their fans expected easier game. Damian Palacios stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. The best for the losing side was Bruno Oprandi with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Independiente maintains fifth place with 15-20 record, which they share with Progreso Roca. Loser Tiro Federal keeps the sixth position with 27 games lost. Independiente will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tiro Federal will play against Salta Basket (#3) and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Barrio Parque (28-10) against sixth ranked Obera TC (14-22) on Thursday night. Visiting Barrio Parque was defeated by Obera TC in Obera 80-69. Chris Hooper nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Obera TC maintains sixth place with 14-22 record. Barrio Parque at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. Obera TC's next round opponent will be higher ranked Deportivo Norte (#4) in Armstrong and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Deportivo Norte will face Obera TC (#6) at home in the next round. Villa San Martin will play against Sportivo America in Rosario and hope to win that game.

Other games of round 33 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
San Isidro defeated Sportivo America in San Francisco 73-55. Villa San Martin was smashed by Barrio Parque at home 63-89. Platense won against Ciclista on the opponent's court 72-54. Deportivo Viedma managed to outperform Progreso Roca in a home game 88-82. Atenas managed to beat La Union on the road 78-65. La Union was defeated by Parque Sur on its own court 66-75. Gimnasia LP was beaten by Rocamora in a road game 82-67.
The best stats of 33th round was 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Mauro Araujo of Rocamora.



Deportivo Norte - Villa San Martin 95-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Armstrong. Fourth ranked Deportivo Norte faced their close opponent Villa San Martin. Host Deportivo Norte (19-19) defeated guests from Resistencia (20-16) 95-91. Deportivo Norte outrebounded Villa San Martin 36-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists.
