Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Twentieth-ranked Atenas (6-19) was very close to win a game against first ranked San Lorenzo (20-1) in Almagra on Wednesday. San Lorenzo managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Canadian center Joel Anthony (206-82, college: UNLV) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The former international point guard Jose Vildoza (190-96, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international Nicolas Romano (200-87) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds for Atenas. Atenas' coach Nicolas Casalanguida rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. San Lorenzo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-1 record. Atenas at the other side stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. San Lorenzo are looking forward to face Ferro (#3) in Buenos Aires in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atenas will play on the road against Comunicaciones (#9) in Mercedes and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
The game in Comodoro Rivadavia supposed to be also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Obras Basket (16-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Gimnasia (16-10). Gimnasia smashed Obras Basket 103-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Obras Basket. The former international Sebastian Vega (200-88) scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Eloy Vargas chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Naturalized American power forward Phillip Lockett (202-88) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gimnasia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Obras Basket. Gimnasia will play against higher ranked Instituto (#4) in Cordoba in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Obras Basket will play at home against Quimsa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Comunicaciones (14-14) and Penarol (8-18), which took place in Mar del Plata. Higher ranked Comunicaciones lost to seventeenth ranked Penarol in a road game 64-71 on Thursday. Juan-Pablo Vaulet notched 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Penarol's coach Leonardo Gutierrez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points by Selem Safar did not help to save the game for Comunicaciones. Penarol maintains seventeenth position with 8-18 record. Loser Comunicaciones keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. Penarol will meet at home Argentino (#19) in the next round. Comunicaciones will play against Atenas (#20) and hope to secure a win.
Another upset was a game between San Martin Corrientes (12-14) and Bahia Basket (10-15), which took place in Bahia Blanca. Higher ranked San Martin Corrientes lost to fifteenth ranked Bahia Basket in a road game 71-87. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bahia Basket maintains fifteenth position with 10-15 record. San Martin Corrientes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Bahia Basket's next round opponent will be Argentino (#19) in Junin.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 26: Instituto beat Boca Jrs on the road 94-86. La Union lost to Estudiantes C. on its own court 80-84. Hispano Am. unfortunately lost to Olimpico LB in La Banda 77-86. Quilmes MP recorded a loss to Comunicaciones at home 88-92. Hispano Am. was defeated by Quimsa on the opponent's court 91-77.
