There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in LDD. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Quimsa (24-6) in Buenos Aires on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Boca Jrs. (17-13) 82-75. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Boca Jrs. made 7 blocks. It was a good game for Agustin Barreiro (199-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Agustin Facello (180-99) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Boca Jrs.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gabriel Mendes-da-Silva replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for Quimsa. Boca Jrs. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in South with 17-13 record. Quimsa at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Boca Jrs. are looking forward to face La Union (#10) in Formosa in the next round where they are favorite. Quimsa will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Comodoro Rivadavia. Eighth ranked Gimnasia CR (11-18) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 7th ranked San Lorenzo (9-15) 101-100 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Lorenzo. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-0, agency: Pro Sports) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and Pedro Rossi who added 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Gimnasia CR's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Matias Morera (187-99) with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Gimnasia CR moved-up to seventh place in South. San Lorenzo at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. Gimnasia CR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Lorenzo will play at home against Olimpico (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An interesting game for Penarol (21-9) which played road game in Sunchales against 4th ranked Libertad (15-15). Third ranked Penarol managed to get a 4-point victory 83-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Libertad. The best player for the winners was Nicolas Franco who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Penarol moved-up to second place in North. Libertad at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. Penarol's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Instituto in Cordoba and it will be for sure the game of the week.
LDD top team - Weber Bahia (22-8) added another victory to their record on Tuesday. This time they beat seventh ranked La Union (5-24) in Formosa 96-91. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Union. It was a good game for Gonzalo Alonso who led his team to a victory with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Weber Bahia maintains first position in North with 22-8 record. Loser La Union dropped to the tenth place with 24 games lost. Weber Bahia will face San Martin (#3) in Corrientes in the next round, which may be the game of the day. La Union will play on the road against Boca Jrs. (#4) in Buenos Aires and hope to win that game.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 36:
In South Quilmes was beaten by Libertad on the road 78-71.
In North Regatas was destroyed by Weber Bahia on its own court 44-94. Atenas unfortunately lost to San Martin in Corrientes 87-95.
In South H.Americano was rolled over Ferro at home 63-93. Quimsa crushed H.Americano on the opponent's court 98-59.
In North Obras beat Olimpico in a home game 85-73.
The most impressive performance of 36th round was 31 points and 14 rebounds by Luciano Ortiz of OLIMPICO.




Group NORTE
Estudiantes - Quilmes 69-74

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Estudiantes (16-14) against ninth ranked Quilmes (7-23) on Thursday night. Host Estudiantes was defeated by Quilmes in a tough game in Concordia 69-74. Quilmes forced 21 Estudiantes turnovers. The winners were led by swingman Agustin Lecona (190-96) who scored that evening 22 points and 6 rebounds and Lucas Nunez (200-97) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Quilmes players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by Venezuelan center Enderson Alcala (191-1) did not help to save the game for Estudiantes. Venezuelan power forward Adrian Espinoza-Malave (211-97) added 13 points and 13 rebounds. Quilmes maintains ninth position in South with 7-23 record. It was a good game for international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-0) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Ignacio Cuassolo (198-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Libertad players scored in double figures. Lucas Nunez (200-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Agustin Lecona (190-96) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Quilmes. Despite that victory Libertad went down to sixth position (South) due to points difference. Loser Quilmes keeps the ninth place with 23 games lost. Libertad will have a break next round. The best player for the winners was center Nicolas Franco (204-99) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Francisco Quaglia chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Manuel Alonso (194-99) who recorded 25 points and 4 assists and Ignacio Cuassolo (198-99) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Penarol and five Libertad players scored in double figures. Penarol moved-up to second place in North. Libertad at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. Very expected game when 6th ranked Regatas (9-21) was smashed by first ranked Weber Bahia (22-8) in Corrientes 94-44 on Thursday. Weber Bahia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Regatas' 26. Weber Bahia forced 19 Regatas turnovers and outrebounded them 49-24 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Regatas' players. It was a good game for guard Facundo Tolosa (179-2) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Everything went according to plan when first ranked Quimsa (24-6) outplayed 10th ranked H.Americano (4-23) in Rio Gallegos 98-59 on Thursday. Quimsa dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to H.Americano's 22. They outrebounded H.Americano 43-26 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quimsa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Luiz Araujo-Santos who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!) and 5 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Chilean guard Kevin Rubio (189-0) contributed with 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. There was no surprise when 10th ranked Olimpico (13-16) lost to fifth ranked Obras (16-12) in Buenos Aires 73-85 on Wednesday. Olimpico was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Uruguayan swingman Ignacio Xavier (196-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Victor Andrade-Toyo contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Obras' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Luciano Ortiz (200-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Facundo Vazquez (185-98) added 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Olimpico. Obras maintains fifth position in North with 16-12 record. Loser Olimpico dropped to the eighth place with 16 games lost. Obras will have a break next round. Olimpico will play on the road against San Lorenzo (#8) in Almagra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
