La Liga Argentina Round 3 of Regular Season

The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Independiente defeated Rivadavia in Santiago del Estero 81-68. Independiente looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Bruno Ingratta (201-85) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Swingman Mario Espeche (190-91) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Independiente's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Latraius Mosley (198-90, college: Life) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Rivadavia. Rivadavia will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Independiente will try to continue on its current victory against Ameghino in Villa Maria.
Parque Sur (2-1) recorded a loss in Olavarria. Visitors were rolled over by Estudiantes O. (1-0) 86-67. It was a great evening for center Ignacio Galardo (207-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Patricio Rodriguez helped adding 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Estudiantes O.'s coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American forward Patrick Smith (196, college: Mercyhurst) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Estudiantes O. will play against Ciclista in Juninense in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Parque Sur will play at home against Racing and hopes to get back on the winning track.

GELP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Parque Sur's next round opponent will be Racing (#7) in Chivilcoy which should be theoretically an easy game. GELP will play at home against C.Espanol P. and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Winless CAO Ceres lost to undefeated Echague in Parana 67-99. Union SF managed to beat CAO Ceres at home 90-76. Winless Sp.America lost to undefeated Obera TC on the opponent's court 60-81. Winless Tiro Federal was beaten by San Isidro in a home game 55-68. Winless Rivadavia lost to undefeated Salta Basket on the road 76-84. San Isidro managed to outperform Barrio Parque on its own court 83-74. Independiente managed to beat Rivadavia in Santiago del Estero 76-67. Dep Viedma defeated Villa Mitre at home 83-69. Winless Quilmes MP lost to undefeated Del Progreso on the opponent's court 65-84. Winless Atenas lost to undefeated Villa Mitre in a home game 85-99. Winless Quilmes MP unfortunately lost to C.Espanol P. on the road 69-86.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 19 points and 9 rebounds by Rodrigo Sanchez of Obera TC.

Group CENTRO

Estudiantes O. - Parque Sur 86-67

Parque Sur (2-1) recorded a loss in Olavarria. Visitors were rolled over by Estudiantes O. (1-0) 86-67. Estudiantes O. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Parque Sur's 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Jeffrey Merchant (198-97) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Raul Pelorosso (175-94) added 16 points in the effort for Quilmes MP. Quilmes MP's coach Manuel Gelpi gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win.
