24-year old power forward Gaston Marozzi (196-PF-95) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Union SF and receives a Interperformances La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Dep Norte (#2, 7-3) with 34-point margin 116-82. It allowed Union SF to take over top position in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Union SF has a very solid 8-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Marozzi had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Union SF and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Marozzi has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 50.6% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Lucas Machuca (185-G-92) of Petrolero. He is a guard in his first season at Petrolero. In the last game Machuca recorded impressive 26 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Petrolero cruised to a 99-87 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Dep Viedma (#2, 8-3). Petrolero's 5th position in SUR has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Machuca is a newcomer at Petrolero and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Howard Wilkerson (198-PF-84) of league's leader C.Espanol P.. Wilkerson showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Wilkerson's great performance C.Espanol P. lost 70-76 to the lower-ranked Del Progreso (#6, 4-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing C.Espanol P. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in SUR. Their record is 9 victories and 3 lost games. Wilkerson has a very solid season. In 12 games in Argentina he scored 16.8ppg. He also has 7.8rpg and FGP: 61.4%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
