Lucas Machuca
27-year old guard Lucas Machuca (185-G-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Petrolero and receives a Interperformances La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had the game-high 32 points adding three rebounds and five assists for Petrolero in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Del Progreso (#6, 4-13) 98-94. Petrolero maintains the 3rd position in their group in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Petrolero will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Machuca had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Petrolero's top player in his first season with the team. Lucas Machuca averages this season 15.9ppg and 4.2apg.
Second best performed player last round was German Gonzalez (188-PG-92) of CAO Ceres. He is a guard in his 3rd season at CAO Ceres. In the last game Gonzalez recorded impressive 28 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for CAO Ceres to edge the higher-ranked San Isidro (#1, 10-7) by 6 points 88-82. This victory allowed CAO Ceres to move up to 5th position in NORTE. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Gonzalez is one of the most experienced players at CAO Ceres and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to Alejandro Zilli (201-C/F-82) of Echague (#6). Zilli scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Echague, leading his team to a 67-62 win against the higher-ranked Union SF (#3, 12-6). The chances of Echague ranking at the top of NORTE, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zilli could help Echague to bring them higher in the standings. Zilli has a very solid season. In 18 games in Argentina he scored 12.1ppg. He also has 6.6rpg and FGP: 62.9%.
