LDD Round 18: Weber Bahia keeps a leadership position- January 26, 2020
The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
Comunicaciones - Argentino 91-78 Very expected game in Mercedes where 18th ranked Argentino (3-14) was defeated by third ranked Comunicaciones (12-5) 91-78 on Wednesday. Comunicaciones looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Argentino's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Comunicaciones made 7 blocks. Forward Franco Maeso (197-1) scored 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and guard Juan-Manuel Bejar (186-1) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Franco Montemagio (183-2) with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Enzo Filipetti (198-1) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Comunicaciones and four Argentino players scored in double figures. Comunicaciones moved-up to second place. Loser Argentino dropped to the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. H.Americano made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. H.Americano outrebounded Platense 45-34 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for L Cerminatto who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Damian Fernandez (194-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Platense's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. H.Americano moved-up to eighteenth place. Penarol's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Libertad shot 29 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Atenas only scored eight points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-0) who scored 21 points and 8 assists. Nicolas Quiroga (191-3) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Federico Colla (186) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and forward Luca Chiapella (198-2) added 21 points respectively. Five Atenas players scored in double figures. Atenas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Libertad moved-up to tenth place. Atenas at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost.
