Gimnasia - Quimsa 68-92 There was no surprise in Comodoro Rivadavia where 16th ranked Gimnasia CR (3-12) was crushed by leader Quimsa (13-0) 92-68 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Chilean guard Kevin Rubio (192-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Guard Emiliano Toretta (185-1) helped adding 22 points and 4 assists. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cuban center Pedro Bombino (207-0, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and E Fernandez scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Quimsa. They maintain second place with 13-0 record behind leader Weber Bahia. Loser Gimnasia CR keeps the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Olimpico. They outrebounded Weber Bahia 55-35 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Joaquin Marcon (203-1) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.
