#11. Former international guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple, currently plays in Italy) helped Trieste edge the closely-ranked Sassari 83-82 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. He was the top player that evening. Fernandez scored 23 points and added 3 assists in 21 minutes. Fernandez has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 3.5apg in 17 games. He used to play for the Argentinian national team six years ago. #12. International point guard Lucio Redivo (183-94, currently plays in Mexico) was the major contributor in Aaguacateros' victory against the leader Soles 86-85 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Wednesday night. Redivo scored 21 points. Redivo has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 2.0apg. He is also in the roster of the Argentinian national team. #13. Former international center Daniel Amigo (208-95, college: Denver, currently plays in Mexico) faced previously mentioned Lucio Redivo in the Mexican LNBP last game. Amigo couldn't help Soles in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team was edged 86-85 in Michoacan by the lower-ranked (#3) Aaguacateros in the West group. Amigo was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 7 rebounds in 29 minutes. Amigo's stats this year are: 10.8ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.8apg in 45 games. He is a naturalized American. Amigo used to play for the Argentinian national team three years ago. Strangely he has never played in Argentina. #14. International point guard Lucas Faggiano (188-89, college: LIU Brooklyn, currently plays in Brazil) helped Paschoalotto/Bauru win their game against the tenth-ranked Rio Claro crushing them 104-76 in the Brazilian NBB last Wednesday. Faggiano recorded 12 points and added 6 assists. Faggiano averaged so far 14.9ppg, 2.9rpg, 5.2apg and 2.0spg. He plays currently for the Argentinian national team. #15. Former U19 international guard Cristian Cortes (185-90, also represented by Best of You Sports, currently plays in Mexico) helped Fuerza Regia win their game against the leader Mineros 88-77 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) last Sunday. He scored 6 points in 20 minutes. Cortes has averaged so far 3.1ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.3apg in 36 games. He used to play for the Argentinian U19 national team eleven years ago. The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams: #1. Experienced Ignacio Alessio (203-C-87, currently plays in Chile) led Deportivo Valdivia to a victory over the fifth-ranked AB Ancud (12-13) 82-77 in the Chilean Liga Nacional on Sunday night. He was the top player that evening. Alessio scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Club Deportivo Valdivia (15-12) is placed second in Conferencia Sur. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Alessio has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.1ppg and 7.8rpg. #2. Nicolas Ferreyra (185-PG-85, currently plays in Chile) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ignacio Alessio and both played together in the last Chilean Liga Nacional game. Ferreyra was the major contributor in a Deportivo Valdivia's victory against the fifth-ranked AB Ancud (12-13) 82-77. He scored 19 points and added 6 passes (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Ferreyra averaged so far 14.0ppg, 3.1rpg and 6.0apg. #3. Esteban Cantarutti (185-G-88, currently plays in Chile) contributed to a CD Castro's victory against the sixth-ranked CD Puerto Varas (12-15) 89-80 in the Chilean Liga Nacional in Sunday night's game. He scored 22 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 36 minutes. Club Deportes Castro (1-1) is placed third in Conferencia Sur. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Cantarutti has very impressive stats this year: 16.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 5.3apg in 25 games he played so far. #4. Omar Canton (206-C-82, currently plays in Chile) could not help Los Leones (3-0) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Los Leones was badly defeated 97-79 at home by the leading Las Animas in the Conferencia Centro. Canton was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 5 boards, handed out 4 passes and blocked 3 shots. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. This season Canton has very high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.8apg. Canton has a dual citizenship: Italian and Argentinian. #5. Nicholas Wadell (201-F-89, currently plays in Chile) was not able to help Puente Alto (20-9) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Wadell's very good performance Puente Alto was edged 81-79 on the road by the lower-ranked Quilicura (#6) in the Conferencia Centro. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. Wadell also added 4 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. This season Wadell has very high stats. He averages: 16.8ppg, 6.9rpg and 2.0apg. #6. Min-Soo Kim (200-C-82, currently plays in South Korea) helped SK Knights win their game against the league leader DB Promy 91-74 in the South Korean KBL last Saturday. Kim scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. Kim has averaged so far 7.3ppg and 2.8rpg in 32 games. He is another player who holds two passports: South Korean and Argentinian. #7. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in EuroCup) was not able to secure a victory for Trento in their game against Virtus BO in the Eurocup. Forray recorded 7 points in 24 minutes. His team was crushed by 24 points 94-70. Forray has averaged so far 7.9ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3spg in 14 games. He has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities. #8. Diego Figueredo (185-PG-91, currently plays in Brazil) couldn't help Sao Jose in their last game on Thursday. Despite Figueredo's good performance his team was crushed 104-83 on their home court in Sao Jose by the much lower-ranked SKY/Basquete (#14). He recorded 12 points and added 5 assists. Figueredo averaged so far 12.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 4.9apg. #9. Franco Migliori (200-F/G-82, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Aurora JE (9-11) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Migliori's very good performance Aurora JE (#10) was defeated 67-63 in Ozzano dell Emilia by the higher-ranked Ozzano (#8) in the Group C. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Migliori also added 6 rebounds. Migliori has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg. He also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. #10. Ariel Filloy (190-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in EuroCup) couldn't help Umana Venezia in their game against Promitheas in the Eurocup. Filloy cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points in 7 minutes on the court. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 70-52. Filloy has averaged so far 4.9ppg, 1.2rpg and 2.1apg in 14 games. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.
