Montero played most recently at Platense. In 11 La Liga games in Argentina he averaged impressive 15.3ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.7apg, 1.8spg and 1.3bpg last season. Montero ended the previous (2019) season at Cocodrilos (LPB) in Venezuelan league. But the most of that year he spent at Gregorio Urbano Gilbert (Dominican Rep. Santiago League) in Dominican Rep. league where in four Dominican Rep. Santiago League games he had very remarkable stats: 16.0ppg, 8.0rpg, 5.5apg and 1.5spg in 2019 season. Montero has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. He represented Dominican Republic at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) last year. Montero's team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 5 games: 9.6ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.2apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 46.2%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 90.0%. Montero is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Mexico (Capitanes), Poland, NBA (Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce, Santa Cruz Warriors, Stockton Kings and Grand Rapids Drive) and Dominican Republic (El Million). Among many awards he played in the final of Dominican Republic Santiago League in 2019. Montero received also Latinbasket.com All-Panamerican Games 2nd Team award in 2019.
