Argentinian La Liga Argentina round 15 best performance: Ayan Carvalho (by Hoops Agents)- March 26, 2021
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (33 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Atenas (#12, 2-6) 84-77. It allowed Dep Viedma to consolidate first place in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Dep Viedma has a very solid 6-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Carvalho had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Dep Viedma, through which he has constantly improved. Former Temple University star has very solid stats this year. Carvalho is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.3ppg. Carvalho is in league's top in and averages impressive 55.7% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line. The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Julian Morales (195-G/F-95) of league's second-best RACING (CH). Morales had a very good evening with 30 points and 4 rebounds. Of course Racing cruised to a 96-88 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked GELP (#6, 4-2). This victory allowed Racing to move up to second position in Conferencia Sur. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Morales is a newcomer at Racing, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#3). He also registered 8.1 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was forward Emilio Stucky (198-F-94) of Sp.America (#9). Stucky scored 17 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Stucky's great performance Sp.America lost 73-74 to the higher-ranked Union SF (#1, 8-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Sp.America needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Conferencia Norte. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Stucky has a great season in Argentina. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.6rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 57.4%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Omar Canton (205-C-82) of Sp.America - 32 points and 4 rebounds 5. Martin Percaz (179-PG-93) of Atenas - 18 points and 9 rebounds 6. Cristian Scaramuzzino (205-C-92) of Union SF - 20 points and 6 rebounds 7. Carlos Gianella (181-PG) of GELP - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Joaquin Rios (186-SG) of Colon SF - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Cristopher Jara (G) of Estudiantes C. - 24 points and 4 assists 10. Sebastian Godoy (196-F-93) of Echague - 19 points and 7 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
