There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Union SF (8-3) in Resistencia on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Villa S.Martin (7-3) 64-57. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Union SF. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Union SF 40-27 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Union SF helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Franco Vieta (194-92) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Favio Vieta (188-96) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Gaston Bertona (176-1) with 17 points. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa S.Martin have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Union SF at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Estudiantes C. (6-5) against fifth ranked Villa Mitre (6-2) on Wednesday night. Host Estudiantes C. was defeated by Villa Mitre in a tough game in Concordia 70-76. Power forward Ramiro Heinrich (204-87) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Jose Gutierrez supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Eric Okenchi (201-97, college: UVA Wise) did not help to save the game for Estudiantes C.. Villa Mitre moved-up to second place, which they share with Ameghino. Estudiantes C. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Echague.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Progreso (6-4) against fourteenth ranked Rocamora (3-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Progreso was defeated by Rocamora in a tough game in Rocamora 77-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Progreso. The best player for the winners was Juan Martin Bello who scored 22 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Lucio Catellani who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds. Rocamora moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Progreso dropped to the third position with four games lost.
An interesting game took place in Ceres where higher ranked Olimpico (5-5) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Colon SF (3-8) 79-73. It was a good game for Joaquin Rios who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Colon SF moved-up to twelfth place. Olimpico at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost.
10th ranked Parque Sur (3-6) was outscored at home by twelfth ranked Atenas (3-6) with the biggest margin this round 78-54 on Wednesday night. Franco Smaniotti scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atenas moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Parque Sur. Parque Sur lost third consecutive game.

In the last game of round 18 Echague won against Independiente on the opponent's court 73-68.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 13 rebounds by Martin Chervo of Echague.



Parque Sur - Atenas 54-78

10th ranked Parque Sur (3-6) was outscored at home by twelfth ranked Atenas (3-6) with the biggest margin this round 78-54 on Wednesday night. Atenas made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Parque Sur turnovers. Franco Smaniotti (194-0) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Italian swingman Gianni Dubois (193-98) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Atenas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Enzo Filipetti (201-1) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ignacio Zulberti (200-96) scored 2 points and 15 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atenas moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Parque Sur. Parque Sur lost third consecutive game.

An interesting game took place in Ceres where higher ranked Olimpico (5-5) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Colon SF (3-8) 79-73. Colon SF made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Joaquin Rios (186) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-0, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Santiago Barrales (189-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Alejo Crotti (188-92) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico. Colon SF moved-up to twelfth place. Olimpico at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost.
