Martin Chervo claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Martin Chervo (200-F-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Echague and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team edged out Riachuelo LR (#14, 4-15) 83-80. Echague maintains the 2nd position in their group in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Echague will need more victories to improve their 15-6 record. Chervo just recently signed at Echague, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Chervo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.2rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old Italian Vicente Garello (203-SF-97, agency: BIG) of Dep Norte. Garello impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Dep Norte lost that game 72-91 to the lower-ranked Independiente (#15, 3-13). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in Conferencia Norte. Dep Norte keeps 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Garello is one of the most experienced players at Dep Norte and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Jorge Banegas (190-SG-93, agency: BIG) of Tiro Federal (#9). Banegas scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Tiro Federal, leading his team to a 80-79 win against slightly higher-ranked Ameghino (#7, 9-5). The chances of Tiro Federal ranking at the top of Conferencia Norte, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Banegas could help Tiro Federal to bring them higher in the standings. Banegas has a very solid season. In 11 games in Argentina he scored 13.3ppg.
