Seventh-ranked Ciclista (11-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Quilmes MP (15-11) in Mar del Plata on Sunday. Quilmes MP managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Quilmes MP made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Ciclista helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American Tirrell Brown (198-93, college: OBU) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Facundo Gago (178-96) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Christian Boudet (192-97) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Ciclista's coach Daniel Jaule rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quilmes MP have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Despite that victory Quilmes MP went down to fourth position due to points difference. Ciclista at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Atenas. Quilmes MP will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ciclista will play on the road against Estudiantes O. (#10) in Olavarria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
La Liga Argentina top team - Dep Viedma (18-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eleventh ranked Racing (9-11) in Chivilcoy 76-68. It was a quality performance for Maximiliano Tabieres (198-89) who led the winners and scored 9 points and 17 rebounds. Matias Eidintas accounted for 14 points. Power forward Hector Martirena (198-82) came up with 17 points for Racing in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dep Viedma maintains first place with 18-6 record. Racing at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Dep Viedma will play against Progreso (#5) in General Roca in the next round. Racing will play on the road against Atenas (#8) in Carmen de Patagones and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in General Roca was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Villa Mitre (15-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Progreso (13-11). Villa Mitre managed to secure a 9-point victory 78-69 on Sunday. Jose Gutierrez fired 16 points, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Lucio Catellani produced 19 points for lost side. Villa Mitre moved-up to third place. Loser Progreso keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Villa Mitre will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Progreso will play against the league's leader Dep Viedma (#1) in Rio Negro and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 43: Tiro Federal was destroyed by Riachuelo LR on the opponent's court 90-65. Rivadavia was outscored by GELP in a home game 75-100. Colon SF recorded a loss to Dep Norte on the road 84-68. Independiente defeated San Isidro on its own court 93-88. Estudiantes O. was beaten by Rivadavia in a road game 79-70. Villa Mitre won against Parque Sur at home 84-73.



Riachuelo LR - Tiro Federal 90-65

There was an upset when higher ranked Tiro Federal (10-17) was crushed on the road by fourteenth ranked Riachuelo LR (9-18) 90-65 on Saturday. Riachuelo LR made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Riachuelo LR outrebounded Tiro Federal 51-28 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward T.J. Robinson (203-89, college: LBSU) fired 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Leandro Gerez (196-87, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Riachuelo LR's coach Fabricio Salas felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ivan Antoniuk (202-92) produced 21 points and guard Emiliano Correa (188-91) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Riachuelo LR moved-up to thirteenth place. Tiro Federal lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked GELP (11-10) smashed on the road 14th ranked Rivadavia (5-21) 100-75 on Sunday. GELP dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rivadavia's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Pablo Alderete (198-93) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Nicolas Remolina (185-98) chipped in 17 points. Power forward Estefano Simondi (201-96) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Agustin Mas Delfino (194-97) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five GELP and four Rivadavia players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GELP moved-up to seventh place. Rivadavia lost their fifteenth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. GELP will meet higher ranked Lanus (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rivadavia will have a break next round.
