Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Eleventh-ranked Racing (10-13) was very close to win a game against third ranked Villa Mitre (16-6) in Bahia Blanca on Friday. Villa Mitre managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for point guard Jose Gutierrez (185-87, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 assists. Power forward Ramiro Heinrich (204-87) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Julian Morales (195-95) answered with 14 points for Racing. Villa Mitre have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Racing at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Estudiantes O.. Villa Mitre are looking forward to face Atenas (#8) in Carmen de Patagones in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Racing will play on the road against Estudiantes O. in Olavarria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Progreso will have a break next round.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Ameghino (16-10) and San Isidro (10-14), which took place in Villa Maria. Higher ranked Ameghino lost at home to eleventh ranked San Isidro 72-79 on Saturday. Anthony Johnson nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Juan Luis Abeiro came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for Ameghino in the defeat. San Isidro moved-up to tenth place. Loser Ameghino keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. San Isidro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ameghino will play again against San Isidro (#10) in San Francisco and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 45: Estudiantes T. beat Salta Basket on the road 87-73. Estudiantes O. lost to GELP on its own court 73-79. Estudiantes O. unfortunately lost to Lanus in Buenos Aires 65-79. Sp.America managed to beat Colon SF at home 82-65.
The most impressive performance of 45th round was 18 points and 7 rebounds by Agustin Carnovale of Colon SF.



Racing - Del Progreso 86-84

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Estudiantes T. (15-13) beat on the road 6th ranked Salta Basket (16-12) 87-73 on Friday. They outrebounded Salta Basket 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Diego Peralta (195-94) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Joaquin Noblega (194-97) accounted for 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Estudiantes T.'s coach Gabriel Albornoz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Uruguayan Bernardo Barrera (194-97) came up with 20 points and swingman Cristian Cardo (198-99) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Salta Basket in the defeat. Newly promoted Estudiantes T. maintains seventh place with 15-13 record. Loser Salta Basket keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost.

Four GELP players scored in double figures.
