Eloy Vargas (ex CDP) is a newcomer at Boca

Boca Juniors (La Liga) added to their roster 32-year old Dominican 211cm center Eloy Vargas, college: Kentucky, agency: Duran International for season 2021-22. Vargas played last summer at CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago in Santiago League in Dominican Republic. In 10 games he recorded 14.7ppg, 9.7rpg (#3 in the league), 1.9apg, 1.3spg and 1.6bpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. Santiago League 2nd Team. The last season he played at Chemidor in Iranian Superleague where in two games he averaged impressive 19.0ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.0apg, 1.5spg and 2.0bpg.
In 2014 (two years after he left the college) he was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in first round (17th overall).
The former University of Kentucky star is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
Vargas has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
He represented Dominican Republic at the World Cup in China two years ago. Vargas' team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 5 games: 11.0ppg, 5.6rpg, FGP: 58.3%, FT: 86.7%.
Vargas is a very experienced player. Thanks to Vargas' pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in nine different countries. He has played previously professionally also in Brazil (Flamengo), France (Boulazac Basket), Greece (Enosi Kavalas), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), Spain (Clavijo), Uruguay (Defensor), Venezuela (Trotamundos) and Argentina (Gimnasia).
Among many awards he won Dominican Republic LNB championship title in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
