Argentino lands Jameel McKay, ex Ylli

Argentino Junin (La Liga) tabbed 28-year old American 206cm power forward Jameel McKay, college: Iowa State for new season. McKay played most recently at Ylli in Kosovan Superliga, but left the team in Nov.'20. In four games he averaged 3.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg last season.
His team made it to the Kosovo Cup Finalist in 2020 final. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Kosovo League Forward of the Year in 2020.
The previous (19-20) season he played at Singapore Slingers in Singapore league where in only one ASEAN League game he had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
McKay has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in nine different countries playing on four different continents. McKay is familiar with European, Asian, Australian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Perth Wildcats), Iceland (Breidablik), Japan (Shimane Susanoo Magic), Lithuania (Neptunas), Philippines (Phoenix), Spain (Bilbao), NBA G League (Windy City B.), Vietnam (Buffaloes) and The Basketball Tournament (Hilton ML).
McKay attended Iowa State until 2016 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
