28-year old shooting guard Jorge Banegas (190-SG-1993, agency: BIG) had a very impressive game in the last round for CAO Ceres and receives a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 60.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Echague (#15, 3-21) 94-82. CAO Ceres is placed at 3rd position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They are still close to the very top. CAO Ceres would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-4 record. In the team's last game Banegas had a remarkable nine three-pointers out of 15 attempts. He has many years of experience at CAO Ceres, through which he has constantly improved. Banegas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.5ppg) and averages solid 52.3% FGP and 42.0% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Yohanner Sifontes (192-G-1995) of Ameghino. He is Venezuelan guard in his first (recently joined) season at Ameghino. In the last game Sifontes recorded impressive 29 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Ameghino cruised to a 98-87 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Jachal (#14, 3-20). This victory allowed Ameghino to move up to 5th position in Conference Norte. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sifontes is one of the most experienced players at Ameghino and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Ezequiel Paz (190-PG-2001, agency: Interperformances) of Bahia (#13). Paz scored 23 points and passed seven assists. He was a key player of Bahia, leading his team to a 79-56 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Parque Sur (#15, 5-20). The chances of Bahia not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Sur, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Paz could try to bring Bahia's a little bit higher in the standings. Paz has a very solid season. In 30 games in Argentina he scored 15.9ppg.
