La Liga Argentina top team - Independ.O. (21-2) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Libertad (10-13) in Olivia 99-73. Independ.O. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Libertad's 36. Salvador Giletto (195-1993) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and swingman Joaquin Noblega (194-1997) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Juan Wall (194-1989) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Independ.O. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Independ.O. maintains first place with 21-2 record. Libertad lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Independiente. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 61: Parque Sur lost to Villa Mitre on the opponent's court 67-73. Estudiantes C. managed to outperform Del Progreso in a home game 79-70. Ciclista managed to beat Bahia on the road 94-76. Dep Norte defeated Estudiantes T. on its own court 66-59. Echague was beaten by Villa S.Martin in Resistencia 76-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points and 12 rebounds by Treshaad Williams of Villa S.Martin.



Lanus - Quilmes MP 81-84

A very close game took place in Buenos Aires between Quilmes MP and Lanus. Twelfth ranked Quilmes MP (9-14) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Lanus (9-13). Quilmes MP managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 on Monday evening. Quilmes MP made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Forward Alex Negrete (192-2001) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Very expected game in Bahia Blanca where 15th ranked Parque Sur (5-20) was defeated by seventh ranked Villa Mitre (14-10) 73-67 on Monday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Villa Mitre shot 26 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Parque Sur only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Parque Sur 53-26 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Juan Javier Bollo (203-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian power forward Jamaal Levy (206-1983, college: Wake Forest) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Villa Mitre players scored in double figures.
