The regular round is beginning to come to an end, and many are starting to reckon: some are on a clear path to the goal at the beginning of the season, while others are less so. For this we will give a review of what in our opinion are 3 large plots that are glimpsed in this final stretch within the Conferencia Sur of the Liga Argentina 2021-22.
Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro after this week was consolidated as leader in the Southern Conference, but the rest fight for three places that would give them the direct pass to the Playoffs. Viedma comes from winning three games in a row in his view of Buenos Aires and now they have only one game left against Villa Mitre de Bahia Blanca. It will again be the best record of the conference ( 2nd consecutive year). The remaining three places will be fighting it : Estudiantes Concordia students, Zarate Basket Independiente, Villa Mitre de Bahia Blanca, Ciclista Juninense, Estudiantes de Olavarria and Racing de Chivilcoy. We are talking about 6 teams for 3 seats.
In the paper Estudiantes Concordia has nothing easy. It is the 2nd in the table but 3 games remain, very complicated all three: Racing de Chivilcoy, Lanus and Gimnasia. Racing de Chivilcoy is a direct rival in addition to having lost 2 of the 3 games, one of them by far. At this moment their strength is that they bring 4 wins in a row and all with an effective offensive, so for those led by Alejandro Elizalde may be this the game that gives them the goal to achieve the 2nd ticket of the Conference. Lanus and Gimnasia are all looking to avoid the Play In so it does not look easy those two commitments.
Villa Mitre de Bahia Blanca has 3 games left and its rivals seem to be the strongest obstacle of the way: Olavarria, Viedma and Del Progreso students. Olavarria is a direct rival, the tour in Rio Negro where they will visit in 1st instance to Viedma makes see face to face two of the strongest rivals of the South. The series with Viedma and Olavarria have it 1-2, while before Del Progreso is 2-1.
Zarate Basket Independiente has been the most consistent team in the entire conference.
