Atenas keep Canton for another season

Atenas Cordoba (La Liga) re-signed experienced 39-year old naturalized Italian 205cm center Omar Canton for upcoming season. Canton is the second import player in the roster as USA Fabian Jaimes signed here earlier.
He played there last season. In 37 La Liga games he recorded 14.1ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.2apg. The last summer he played at Sportivo America de Rosario (La Liga Argentina) where in 24 games he was league's third best scorer with impressive 18.7ppg and had 4.7rpg in 2021 season.
He is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Brazil (Sport Club do Recife and FTC EAD Bahia), Chile (Los Leones), Colombia (Academia), Spain and Uruguay (Cantonbraica, Union Atletica Montevideo and Nacional) and Argentina (Bahia, Echague, Canadense, Quilmes Mar del Plata and Lanus).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Atenas.
