Riachuelo de La Rioja (La Liga) signed 26-year old American center Deionte Simmons (205cm-104kg-1996, college: Chicago State) for upcoming 2022-23 season. Simmons played last season at H.Americano. In 32 La Liga games in Argentina he had very impressive stats: 16.6ppg and 7.8rpg. He was also named League Player of the Week.
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin in Israeli National League where in 9 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 17.6ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.0apg in that year.
Simmons has played previously professionally in Denmark (Herlev) and Ukraine (Zaporizhye).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com Danish Ligaen All-Imports Team back in 2019.
He graduated from Chicago State in 2018 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player.
