Ameghino-Villa-Maria (LaLiga Femenina) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old Paraguayan international 175cm forward Paloma Niz for season 2022-23. Niz played last summer at Ciudad Nueva in Paraguayan Metropolitan League. In 10 games she recorded very impressive stats: 17.4ppg, 9.9rpg, 3.5apg and 2.3spg in 2021 year. She helped them to make it to the Paraguayan Metropolitan League final. A very spectacular season in her career as she was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Paraguayan Metropolitan League Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and League Player of the Week. Niz also spent pre-season at Leonas (D1) in Paraguay. Great season indeed as she was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Paraguayan Metropolitan League Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and also here League Player of the Week.
She has been also a member of Paraguayan international program for some years. Niz has regularly played for Paraguayan senior team since 2016 and previously for U17 National Team back in 2015.
She represented Paraguay at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) three years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 1.3ppg.
Niz has played also professionally for other Paraguayan teams like Sol de America Asuncion and Libertad.
She won Paraguayan Metropolitan League Clausura championship title in 2019.
