Carlos Baez claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina weekly honour

Carlos Baez (1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Pergamino and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 29-year old had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Pergamino in his team's victory, helping them to beat Pilar (#16, 1-3) 86-80. Pergamino is placed at 4th position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Pergamino will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Baez had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pergamino's top player in his first season with the team. Baez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.6rpg) and averages solid 64.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Jarret Branch of Pico FC. Branch impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Pico FC lost that game 86-101 to South's leader Del Progreso (#7, 2-0). Pico FC managed to keep the same 17th spot in South. 4 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Branch is a newcomer at Pico FC and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Franco Smaniotti (194-SF-2000) of Pilar (#16). Smaniotti got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. Despite Smaniotti's great performance Pilar lost 80-86 to the higher-ranked Pergamino (#4, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Smaniotti has individually a great season in Argentina. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (best scorer).
