Jara Agustin
24-year old guard Jara Agustin (G-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Salta Basket and receives a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had the game-high 29 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Salta Basket in his team's victory, helping them to beat Colon SF (#7, 3-2) 107-100. Thanks to this victory Salta Basket moved-up to the 12th position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. Salta Basket is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Agustin had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Salta Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Jara Agustin averages this season 17.0ppg and 5.6rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Franco Smaniotti (194-SF-2000) of Pilar. He is a in his first season at Pilar. In the last game Smaniotti recorded impressive 33 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Pilar lost that game 70-88 to the higher-ranked Parque Sur (#9, 2-1). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in South. Pilar keeps 16th position. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Pilar managed to get this year. Smaniotti is a newcomer at Pilar and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.8ppg (#1).
Third place about best performers goes to forward Taurus Adams II (201-F-1998) of Parque Sur (#9). Adams II scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Parque Sur, leading his team to a 88-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Pilar (#16, 1-4). Parque Sur needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in South. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Adams II has a great season in Argentina. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (2nd best).
