The first upset was a home defeat of 4th ranked GEPU (6-2) to third ranked Barrio Parque (7-1) 77-73 in the game for the third place. It ended the four-game winning streak of GEPU. Point guard Nahuel Buchaillot (178-2000) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Pablo Moya (206-1983) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) responded with 12 points and 5 assists and swingman Hans Ponce (192-1999) scored 18 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Barrio Parque maintains third position with 7-1 record having six points less than leader Ameghino. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Echague's players.
