Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ameghino as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ameghino smashed 9th ranked Montmartre in Villa Maria 84-65. The best player for the winners was Matias Martinez who scored 28 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American-Panamanian forward Tymell Murphy (196-1990, college: FIU) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Richard Granberry (203-1993, college: Virginia St.) who recorded 20 points. Ameghino (13-2) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Montmartre lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Estudiantes C.. Montmartre will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Ameghino will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Colon SF in Santa Fe.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Zarate Basket (9-6) against fifth ranked Lanus (8-5) on Sunday night. Host Zarate Basket was defeated by Lanus in Zarate 95-79. It was a good game for American forward Phil Bledsoe (198, college: GSC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Jorge Banegas contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Agustin Brocal (191-1997) replied with 32 points and 5 rebounds (went 16 for 16 at the free throw line !!!) for Zarate Basket. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lanus have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Colon SF. Zarate Basket at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Lanus will play against Pico FC (#12) in General Pico in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zarate Basket will play at home against Estudiantes C. (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Fourteenth-ranked Echague (4-10) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked GEPU (9-2) in Parana on Sunday. The visitors from San Luis managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Tirrell Brown scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Lisandro Ruiz Moreno with 21 points and 8 rebounds. GEPU have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Racing. Loser Echague dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost. GEPU will meet at home Jachal (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Echague will have a break next round.

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Jachal was defeated by Salta Basket in a road game 93-84. Barrio Parque beat Dep Norte at home 92-86. Jachal won against Tucuman on the opponent's court 99-81. Colon SF managed to outperform Rivadavia in a home game 95-81. Estudiantes C. managed to beat Pilar on the road 78-71. H.Americano defeated Pico FC on its own court 80-69. Del Progreso smashed Parque Sur in General Roca 98-70. Rocamora destroyed Del Progreso at home 96-62.
The best stats of 18th round was 7 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals by Justo Catalin of Rocamora.

Salta Basket - Jachal 93-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Jachal (3-9) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Salta Basket (4-9) 93-84 on Monday. Guard Jara Agustin (-1998) scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian center Adriano Alves (210-1995) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Salta Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ismael Sarruff (, agency: BIG) with 31 points and guard Jorge Mas Delfino (194-1997) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Salta Basket moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tucuman. Loser Jachal dropped to the sixteenth position with nine games lost.
