Jara Agustin
Jara Agustin (G-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Salta Basket and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 24-year old guard had a double-double of 31 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat CAO Ceres (#11, 6-10) 92-87. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings in North. Thanks to this victory Salta Basket moved-up to the 14th position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. Salta Basket is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. In the team's last game Agustin had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Salta Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Jara Agustin averages this season 15.1ppg and 5.1rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Ramiro Frontera of Villa S.Martin. Frontera impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Villa S.Martin cruised to a 88-80 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Rivadavia (#9, 6-8). This victory allowed Villa S.Martin to move up to 7th position in North. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Frontera is a newcomer at Villa S.Martin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Valentin Lofrano (176-PG-1999) of Parque Sur (#17). Lofrano showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, six rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Lofrano's great performance Parque Sur lost 94-97 to the higher-ranked Dep Viedma (#6, 8-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Parque Sur can only dream about fighting for top spots in South. They have rather bad season and 3-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Lofrano has a very solid season. In 13 games in Argentina he scored 8.9ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
