Summary of the Case:

The American Player, Jerome Meyinsse (208-C-1988, college: Virginia), and his FIBA-Licensed Agent, Tony Dutt, filed a claim against the Argentinian Club, Club Atletico San Lorenzo de Almagro, for outstanding salaries, agent fees and interest. The Claimants submitted that the Respondent failed to honour both the Settlement Agreement and the Contract by failing to pay the full salaries and agent fees owed thereunder. In its Answer, the Respondent acknowledged the amounts owed to the Claimants under the Settlement Agreement but argued that no amounts were due under the Contract because it never went into effect because the Player's transfer was never authorised by FIBA, the season was postponed and then cancelled and Argentinian law provided that it never went into effect. The claim was upheld.
