The Regular Season in La Liga Argentina is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 7 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Top ranked San Isidro (23-5) recorded its fifth loss in Sunchales on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Libertad (11-15) 83-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of San Isidro. Libertad dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San Isidro's 34. They outrebounded San Isidro 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Augusto Alonso (187-1998, agency: BIG) fired 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Cuban forward Freddy Marin (202-1992) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Jose Montero (193-1995) produced 22 points and 4 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for lost side. San Isidro's coach Daniel Beltramo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Libertad moved-up to tenth place. San Isidro at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Libertad will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Isidro will play at home against Sarmiento R. and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Buenos Aires. Seventh ranked La Union (13-14) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Lanus (15-10) 75-72 on Tuesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center German Frencia (202-1988) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Emilio Gimenez contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (197-1998, agency: BIG) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds for Lanus. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. La Union have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted La Union maintains seventh place with 13-14 record. Lanus at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with H.Americano. La Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lanus will play on the road against Dep Viedma (#4) in Rio Negro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Racing delivered the twenty second victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked H.Americano (15-10) 89-65 in Chivilcoy. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of H.Americano. Emilio Stucky stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. At the losing side Gonzalo Romero responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Racing (22-4) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Loser H.Americano keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Lanus. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games of round 37 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Colon SF was crushed by GEPU in San Luis 92-67. Dep Viedma beat Del Progreso at home 82-73. Zarate Basket won against Parque Sur on the opponent's court 96-81. Dep Norte unfortunately lost to Barrio Parque in a home game 78-93. Estudiantes C. recorded a loss to Pico FC on the road 70-74. GELP defeated La Union on its own court 70-64. Colon SF was beaten by Rivadavia in a road game 90-85. CAO Ceres won against Salta Basket at home 100-84. Estudiantes C. unfortunately lost to Del Progreso on the opponent's court 65-79.

GEPU - Colon SF 92-67

There was no surprise in San Luis where 7th ranked Colon SF (11-13) was crushed by fourth ranked GEPU (18-7) 92-67 on Monday. GEPU dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Colon SF's 32. GEPU forced 20 Colon SF turnovers. Point guard Andres Lugli (188-1995) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Jeffrey Merchant (197-1997) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four GEPU players scored in double figures. GEPU's coach Gustavo Fernandez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Dwayne Russell (203, college: St.Thomas, FL) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Gianfranco Sinconi (204-1994) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. GEPU have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted GEPU maintains fourth place with 18-7 record. Loser Colon SF keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Pergamino and Villa S.Martin. GEPU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon SF will play against Independiente (#5) in Santiago del Estero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
