Facundo Gago
Facundo Gago (178-PG-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for CAO Ceres and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 37.
The 26-year old playmaker had the game-high 32 points adding five rebounds and seven assists for CAO Ceres in his team's victory, helping them to crush Salta Basket (#15, 9-17) with 16-point margin 100-84. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings in Conferencia Norte. CAO Ceres maintains the 14th position in their group in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. CAO Ceres is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-15 record. In the team's last game Gago had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be CAO Ceres' top player in his first season with the team. Gago has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 65.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another CAO Ceres' star - young power forward Pablo Martinez (197-PF-1982). Martinez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Gago he helped CAO Ceres with another comfortable win 100-84 over slightly lower-ranked Salta Basket (#15, 9-17) being unquestionably team leader. Similarly like above, the game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in Conferencia Norte. CAO Ceres keeps 14th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-15 record. Martinez is well-known by CAO Ceres fans and together with Facundo Gago they both established positions among team's most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was Emilio Stucky (198-F-1994) of top-ranked Racing. Stucky scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Racing, leading his team to a 89-65 easy win against the lower-ranked H.Americano (#6, 15-11). Racing confirms their top position in Conferencia Sur. Stucky has a very solid season. In 26 games in Argentina he scored 13.4ppg. He also has 7.0rpg and FGP: 61.0%.
