Atenas Cordoba (La Liga Argentina) signed 30-year old American center Roquez Johnson (201cm-95kg-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) for upcoming 2023-24 season. It is actually his comeback to Cordoba as he has played here before. Johnson played last season at Club Deportivo Valdivia in Chilean LNB league. In 26 games he had very impressive stats: 20.2ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.3bpg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (2 times).
The previous (2022) summer he played at Gigantes in Venezuelan SPB where in 18 games he recorded 10.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.0apg in 2022 year.
He is quite experienced player. Johnson has played also professionally in Paraguay (Olimpia), Uruguay (Malvin), Argentina (Ferro, Boca, Ciclista and San Lorenzo), Chile (Puerto Montt) and TBL (Cent.Al. J.).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Paraguayan Metropolitan League Clausura in 2019. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Paraguayan Metropolitan League Clausura Center of the Year back in 2019.
Johnson graduated from Mississippi State University in 2015 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
