The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Racing A. (2-1) in Bahia Blanca on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Villa Mitre (4-4) 87-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Racing A.. They outrebounded Racing A. 51-37 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Racing A. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Federico Harina (186-1991) scored 33 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-1990) chipped in 13 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Nicolas Remolina (185-1998) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Suardi (6-2) against seventh ranked Villa S.Martin (5-3) on Monday night. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) by Pablo Martinez (197-1982) did not help to save the game for Suardi. Suardi's coach Andres Poi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa S.Martin have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Suardi keeps the third position with two games lost. Villa S.Martin will play against San Isidro (#13) in San Francisco in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
