We should mention about the upset which took place in Mar del Plata, where 14th ranked Villa Mitre (4-7) lost to seventeenth ranked U.Mar del Plata (4-10) in a road game 81-85 on Tuesday. Guard Agustin Villalon (184) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Juan Bellozas (195-1993) chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Alvaro Chervo (193-1999) produced 32 points for lost side. U.Mar del Plata moved-up to sixteenth place. Villa Mitre lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Independiente and Pergamino. U.Mar del Plata are looking forward to face higher ranked Dep Viedma (#3) in Rio Negro in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Villa Mitre will play on the road against Quilmes MP (#12) in Mar del Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Gonzalo Torres contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Favio Vieta (188-1996) replied with 24 points for Ameghino. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. H.Americano have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with GEPU. Ameghino at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. H.Americano will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ameghino will play on the road against GELP (#5) in La Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Echague maintains fourteenth position with 2-8 record. GEPU lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with H.Americano. Echague will meet at home higher ranked Rivadavia (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GEPU will play against Colon in Santa Fe and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 16 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Racing A. was defeated by Provincial in Rosario 65-61. Ciclista smashed Pergamino at home 93-69. Barrio Parque lost to Independiente on the opponent's court 72-84. Dep Norte outscored Jachal in a home game 107-69. Rivadavia managed to beat Colon on the road 76-58.

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Provincial made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-1982) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Alejandro Ettorre who added 15 points during the contest. Five Provincial players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Rafael Rosende (198-1997) responded with 9 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Matias Nunez (202-1995) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds.
