La Liga Argentina is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 21 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

There was a change at the La Liga Argentina leadership position after last games. Round 21 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Dep Viedma (10-5). They were defeated by fourteenth ranked Ciclista (5-8) 72-66 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dep Viedma. Ciclista dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Dep Viedma's 22. Uruguayan center Matias Acosta (200-1999) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 steals for the winners and Aaron Pablo (200-2000) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Maximiliano Tabieres (198-1989) with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ciclista maintains fourteenth place with 5-8 record. Dep Viedma at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Pico FC. Dep Viedma will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Ciclista will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Pilar on the road.
GELP (#5) was upset in Buenos Aires by eighth ranked Lanus 82-65. Point guard Andres Lugli (188-1995) nailed 13 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Franco Alorda accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Alan Moreno (185-1997, agency: BIG) came up with 18 points for GELP in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lanus (8-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San Isidro and Montmartre. GELP at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Villa Mitre. Lanus will play against higher ranked Racing (#4) in Chivilcoy in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GELP will play at home against the league's leader Pico FC and hopes to get back on the winning track.
GEPU (#5) was upset in San Luis by eighth ranked San Isidro 76-72. The best player for the winners was Christopher Hooper who scored 14 points and 4 assists. San Isidro's coach Daniel Beltramo used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Santiago Costa who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). San Isidro (8-5) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lanus and Montmartre. Loser GEPU dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Barrio Parque. San Isidro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GEPU will play against Rivadavia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 21: San Isidro won against Rivadavia on the opponent's court 90-75. Racing unfortunately lost to Villa Mitre in a home game 76-80. Echague recorded a loss to Independiente on the road 68-78. Montmartre defeated Colon on its own court 77-68. Echague was beaten by Salta Basket in a road game 92-78. Independiente won against Colon at home 80-70.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points and 9 rebounds by Tomas Botta of Colon SF.




Lanus - GELP 82-65

GELP (#5) was upset in Buenos Aires by eighth ranked Lanus 82-65. Lanus outrebounded GELP 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. San Isidro looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Manuel Lambrisca (192-1997) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Santiago Bruno (180) chipped in 17 points and 9 assists. Five San Isidro players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (197-1998) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Agustin Vergara (196-2001) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively.
