Facundo Saez claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina weekly honour

Facundo Saez put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Pico Football Club de General Pico and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 22.
The had a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat GELP (#7, 8-8) 71-65. It allowed Pico FC to jump to the first place in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pico FC has a very solid 11-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Saez had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pico FC's top player in his first season with the team. Saez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 9.2rpg) and averages solid 62.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Gonzalo Torres (201-F/C-1994) of Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos. Torres impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. Of course H.Americano cruised to a 69-60 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Quilmes MP (#13, 6-10). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in Conferencia Sur. H.Americano keeps 10th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Torres is a newcomer at H.Americano and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Lisandro Fernandez (194-G/F-1998, agency: BIG) of Quilmes Mar del Plata (#13). Fernandez showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Fernandez's great performance the Quilmes MP lost 60-69 to the higher-ranked H.Americano (#10, 7-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Quilmes MP not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Sur, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fernandez could try to bring Quilmes MP's a little bit higher in the standings. Fernandez has a very solid season. In 12 games in Argentina he scored 14.1ppg. He also has 4.3rpg and a FGP of 58.5%.
