Jeremias Barco claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Jeremias Barco (G-2005) put on an amazing game in the last round for Riachuelo de La Rioja and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 18-year old guard had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat San Lorenzo (#13, 7-11) 87-74. Riachuelo is placed at 6th position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Riachuelo will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. In the team's last game Barco had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Riachuelo's top player in his first season with the team. Jeremias Barco averages this season 12.6ppg and 6.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Franco Gimenez) of La Union Formosa. Gimenez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as La Union lost that game 88-100 to the higher-ranked Boca Jrs. (#3, 13-5). This loss caused La Union to drop to 14th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Gimenez is well-known by La Union fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Santino Mazzucchelli of Club Atletico Platense Florida (#10). Mazzucchelli scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Platense, leading his team to a 101-98 win against the lower-ranked Penarol (#16, 5-11). The chances of Platense ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mazzucchelli could help Platense to bring them higher in the standings. Mazzucchelli has a great season in Argentina. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.7ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 9.7rpg (8th best).
