Nicolas Chiaraviglio claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-F-2004) had a very impressive game in the last round for Penarol Mar del Plata and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 19-year old forward had the game-high 38 points adding seven rebounds for Penarol in his team's victory, helping them to crush San Martin (#20, 1-17) with 20-point margin 87-67. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Penarol maintains the 16th position in Argentinian LDD. Penarol is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-12 record. In the team's last game Chiaraviglio had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It's his second year at Penarol and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Chiaraviglio has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Chiaraviglio is in league's top in and averages solid 51.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Geronimo Ramallo of San Martin Corrientes. Ramallo impressed basketball fans with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as San Martin lost that game 67-87 to the higher-ranked Penarol (#16, 6-12). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. San Martin is still at the dead bottom 20th position. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory San Martin managed to get this year. Ramallo is a newcomer at San Martin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Penarol's star - Gian Rossi (185-PG-2005). Rossi got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. Despite Rossi's great performance the Penarol Mar del Plata lost 99-100 to slightly higher-ranked La Union (#14, 7-9). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Penarol not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rossi could try to bring Penarol's a little bit higher in the standings. Rossi has individually a great season in Argentina. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.6apg (6th best).
