They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. It was a great evening for point guard Mariano Marina (-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Matias Alluchon (185-2000) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. The former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-1982) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for Provincial in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Villa Mitre maintains sixth place with 12-10 record. Newly promoted Provincial keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Rivadavia. Villa Mitre will play against La Union (#9) in Colon in the next round. Very important is a road loss of second ranked Atenas (13-5) against fifth ranked GEPU (12-7) on Monday night. Visiting Atenas was defeated by GEPU in San Luis 69-56. Jorge Mas fired 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Lucas Arn produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. GEPU moved-up to third place. Loser Atenas keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Pico FC. GEPU will meet at home Barrio Parque (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
