Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Bottom-ranked San Martin managed to get a second victory, breaking the eighteen-game losing streak on Monday night. This time they edged sixteenth-ranked Regatas in Corrientes 74-72. San Martin had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Geronimo Ramallo had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Joaquin Folmer chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Francisco Ferraro (196-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. San Martin (2-18) moved-up to nineteenth place. Regatas at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. San Martin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Regatas will play at home against Union (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
20th ranked San Martin (2-18) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Ferro (15-7) with the biggest margin this round 78-41. Facundo Wolinsky notched 18 points to lead the effort and Augusto Roveres supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by Geronimo Ramallo did not help to save the game for San Martin. San Martin's coach Diego Blanco gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ferro maintains fifth position with 15-7 record. San Martin lost eighteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 22: Penarol lost to Comunicaciones on the opponent's court 64-80. Instituto managed to outperform Zarate in a home game 68-52. Penarol was rolled over Union on the road 105-86. Independ.O. crushed Zarate on its own court 92-64. La Union was beaten by Platense in Florida 94-81.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by Franco Gimenez of La Union.



Comunicaciones - Penarol 80-64

Very expected game in Mercedes where 17th ranked Penarol (6-14) was defeated by ninth ranked Comunicaciones (12-7) 80-64. Comunicaciones outrebounded Penarol 52-38 including 40 on the defensive glass. Point guard Agustin Passone (180-2003) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Mateo Rearte (-2006) supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds by forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) did not help to save the game for Penarol. Point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) added 14 points for lost side. Comunicaciones moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Obras. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. Comunicaciones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Penarol will play on the road against the league's second-placed Instituto (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Instituto - Zarate 68-52

Very predictable result in Cordoba where third ranked Instituto (15-4) defeated 18th ranked Zarate (5-15) 68-52. Instituto forced 31 Zarate turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Kadir Pomare notched 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Bruno Abratte (174-2004) supported him with 19 points and 5 steals. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by forward Juan Ibarra (197-2004) did not help to save the game for Zarate. Edgar Merchant (200-2002) added 11 points for lost side. Instituto have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Zarate lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighteenth position with 15 games lost. Instituto will play against Penarol (#17) in Mar del Plata in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zarate will play on the road against Riachuelo in La Rioja and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Union outrebounded Penarol 37-16 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Union shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Estanislao Crespi notched 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Ulises Gonzalez (-2005) supported him with 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field).
