The most important game in the last round took place in Rio Negro between third ranked Dep Viedma (17-10) and fourteenth ranked Ciclista (10-14) on Friday night. Dep Viedma was defeated by Ciclista in a tough game at home 73-81. 24 personal fouls committed by Dep Viedma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Aaron Pablo (200-2000) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Caden Ebeling (201, college: LSSU, agency: Starting 5) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Mariano Marina (-1999) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ciclista moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Pergamino and Salta Basket. Dep Viedma lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The winners were led by point guard Tomas Luduena (178-1996) who scored that evening 12 points and 5 assists and Lucas Gorosterrazu supported him with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Rivadavia's coach Sebastian Torre allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds by Jorge Mas did not help to save the game for GEPU. Rivadavia moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Independiente. GEPU at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Dep Norte. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rocamora managed to escape with a 1-point win 72-71 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Juan Frontera fired 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Jonatan Treise produced 32 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Rocamora maintains seventeenth position with 7-19 record. Loser Pilar keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 40: San Isidro won against Colon on the opponent's court 70-63. Ameghino outscored H.Americano in a home game 90-55. Racing A. recorded a loss to Pico FC on the road 81-69. Montmartre crushed Jachal on its own court 100-74. Amancay was beaten by Independiente in Santiago del Estero 75-64.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 12 rebounds by Johu Castillo of Independiente.



Colon SF - San Isidro 63-70

Very expected game in Santa Fe where 13th ranked Colon (8-15) was defeated by second ranked San Isidro (17-5) 70-63 on Friday. Point guard Santiago Luduena (176-1993) fired 18 points for the winners. American Christopher Hooper (198-1991, college: SFC) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four San Isidro players scored in double figures. San Isidro's coach Daniel Beltramo used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Tomas Botta produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Cristian Linares (190-1993) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. San Isidro have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Colon SF keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Ameghino looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Fermin Thygesen (186-1998) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jeremias Cardona (188-2002) produced 9 points and 6 rebounds and guard Esteban Cantarutti (185-1988) added 7 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Ameghino moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Amancay. Loser H.Americano keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Quilmes MP. Ameghino will meet at home league's second-placed Racing in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. H.Americano will play against Provincial (#6) in Rosario and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Racing A.'s coach Fernando Rosanova rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pico FC moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Racing A. keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. Pico FC will meet at home league's leader Lanus in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
