Juan Cruz Oberto claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Juan Cruz Oberto (200-F/C-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Atenas Cordoba and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 41.
The 26-year old power forward had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds for Atenas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Dep Norte (#5, 14-11) 81-74. Atenas was forced-out from the top positions in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Atenas will need more victories to improve their 17-6 record. Oberto turned to be Atenas' top player in his first season with the team. Juan Cruz Oberto averages this season 12.1ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Italian swingman Adrian Boccia (195-F/G-1982) of Provincial de Rosario. Boccia impressed basketball fans with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Provincial lost that game 73-81 to slightly lower-ranked H.Americano (#7, 13-14). Provincial managed to keep the same 6th spot in Conferencia Sur. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 14-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Boccia is a newcomer at Provincial and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Nahuel Buchaillot (178-PG-2000) of Barrio Parque de Cordoba (#7). Buchaillot showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Buchaillot's great performance the Barrio Parque lost 66-73 to the higher-ranked Suardi (#3, 16-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Barrio Parque needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Conferencia Norte. Their record is 12 victories and 12 lost games. Buchaillot has a great season in Argentina. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.7apg (9th best).
