Matias Bichara claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Matias Bichara had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Riachuelo de La Rioja and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The had the game-high 26 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Riachuelo LR in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Comunicaciones (#9, 12-9) 88-84. Riachuelo is placed at 2nd position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Riachuelo will need more victories to improve their 17-8 record. In the team's last game Bichara had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Riachuelo and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Matias Bichara averages this season 12.2ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Gabriel Campoya of La Union Formosa U22 team. Campoya impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Of course La Union cruised to a 107-98 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Penarol (#16, 8-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. La Union keeps 15th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-12 record. Campoya is a newcomer at La Union and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Augusto Gennero (188-G-2003) of Argentino Junin (#13). Gennero scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Argentino, leading his team to a 66-54 win against the higher-ranked Ferro (#3, 17-9). The chances of Argentino not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gennero could try to bring Argentino's a little bit higher in the standings. Gennero has a very solid season. In 24 games in Argentina he scored 15.6ppg.
