33-year old forward Claudio Ramirez (200-F-1990) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Quimsa Santiago del Estero and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 33. He had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Regatas (#14, 12-17) 90-86. It allowed Quimsa to consolidate first place in the Argentinian league. Quimsa have a solid 23-4 record. In the team's last game Ramirez had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It's his second year at Quimsa and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Claudio Ramirez averages this season 12.4ppg and 6.3rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Gerard De Vaughn (205-C-1988) of Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia. He is American center in his first season at Gimnasia. In the last game De Vaughn recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Gimnasia cruised to a 83-71 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Instituto (#3, 21-9). This victory allowed Gimnasia to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 16-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. De Vaughn is a newcomer at Gimnasia and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.1ppg (#8). He also registered 7.3 boards per game. Former Stillman College star De Vaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

He was a key player of Obras, leading his team to a 100-91 win against the lower-ranked Comunicaciones (#17, 9-19). Obras needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 11 lost games. Spight has a great season in Argentina. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (3rd best).
