An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in General Pico. Second ranked Racing faced 3rd placed Pico FC. Guests from Chivilcoy (22-10) defeated host Pico FC (20-12) 73-63. The best player for the winners was power forward Jose Peralta (202-1995) who scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Santiago Assum (194-1998) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Facundo Saez who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Racing have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-10 record having just three points less than leader San Isidro. Pico FC at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Rio Gallegos. Fourth ranked Villa Mitre (19-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked H.Americano (15-16) 89-88 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of H.Americano. It was a good game for power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-1990) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Federico Harina contributed with 26 points for the winners. Forward Gonzalo Romero (196-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for H.Americano. Villa Mitre maintains fourth place with 19-13 record. H.Americano at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost.
Fifteenth-ranked GELP (10-22) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Dep Viedma (18-14) in La Plata on Saturday. The visitors from Rio Negro managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for Mariano Marina who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Isidro Amendolara with 20 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dep Viedma moved-up to fifth place. Loser GELP keeps the fifteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Rocamora and U.Mar del Plata.

Other games of round 51 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Pergamino was crushed by Ameghino in Villa Maria 70-49. Provincial beat U.Mar del Plata at home 80-63. Racing A. lost to Pilar on the opponent's court 82-90. Colon managed to outperform Echague in a home game 91-75. U.Mar del Plata managed to beat La Union on the road 88-78. Villa S.Martin crushed Independiente on its own court 91-56. U.Mar del Plata was smashed by Rocamora in a road game 84-62. GELP was destroyed by Racing A. at home 58-79.

Ameghino - Pergamino 70-49

There was an upset in Villa Maria where higher ranked Pergamino (17-15) was crushed by twelfth ranked Ameghino (15-17) 70-49 on Saturday. Ameghino held Pergamino to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Pergamino 49-32 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Abel Aristimuno (195-1991, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ecuadorian Abraham Barahona (198-2003) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Ameghino players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Federico Gobetti (192-1999) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Juan Martin Bello (200-1999) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ameghino moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ciclista and Provincial. Loser Pergamino dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost.
