Argentinian La Liga round 34 best performance: Andres Ibarguen (by Hoops Agents)

Colombian Forward Andres Ibarguen (200-F-1996, agency: Helping Ballers) had a great game in the last round for Riachuelo de La Rioja, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Penarol (#15, 11-17) 93-78. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Riachuelo maintains the 11th position in Argentinian La Liga. Riachuelo is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-16 record. Ibarguen turned to be Riachuelo's top player in his first season with the team. Former Angelo State University star has very solid stats this year. Ibarguen is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 8.5rpg) and averages impressive 65.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Valentin Bettiga (189-G/F-1999) of Ferrocarril Oeste Buenos Aires. Bettiga had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Ferro to edge slightly lower-ranked Comunicaciones (#17, 9-20) 76-71. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Ferro keeps 16th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-18 record. Bettiga is one of the most experienced players at Ferro and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Charles Thomas (203-F/C-1986) of Regatas Corrientes (#12). Thomas scored 25 points. Despite Thomas' great performance the Regatas lost 72-74 to the lower-ranked La Union (#18, 9-20). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Regatas ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 17 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Thomas could help Regatas to bring them higher in the standings. Thomas has a great season in Argentina. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (4th best).
