The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Obras (#3) and Ferro (#7). Ferro was defeated at home 68-72 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ferro. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Lautaro Barrios (195-2004) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) who added 8 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Facundo Wolinsky responded with 24 points (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Obras (24-8) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Instituto. Ferro at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Obras is looking forward to face Quimsa (#11) in Santiago del Estero in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ferro will have a break next round.
LDD top team - Gimnasia CR (27-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Riachuelo (23-12) in Comodoro Rivadavia 73-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Riachuelo LR. The winners were led by Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Marcos Chacon supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Gimnasia CR's coach Gustavo Sapochnik allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by guard Jeremias Barco (-2005) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo. Gimnasia CR have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-3 record. Riachuelo at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. Gimnasia will play against Platense (#14) in Florida in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Riachuelo will have a break next round.
Thirteenth-ranked Penarol (13-20) gave a tough game to third ranked Obras (24-8) in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. Obras managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Juan Respaud fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Obras' coach Javier Ielmini used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Nicolas Chiaraviglio produced a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for lost side. Obras have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Instituto. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Obras will meet at home Quimsa (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 40: Regatas was destroyed by Boca Jrs. on the opponent's court 90-59. Platense unfortunately lost to Riachuelo in a home game 63-75. Comunicaciones managed to beat La Union on the road 99-91. Platense crushed Regatas on its own court 89-64. Comunicaciones was beaten by Obera in a road game 83-72.
