American power forward Charles Thomas (203-1986, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Regatas' coach Fernando Calvi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Gerard De Vaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Regatas and five Gimnasia players scored in double figures.

Obras was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Four Platense players scored in double figures.
